Student Council - Kelly Dellarose

 

The purpose of student council is to promote student leadership within the school and the community, to create motivation for academic excellence, and to develop activities for school pride and participation.

 

The student council organizes all of the homecoming festivities for Brownsville Area High School, including the pregame ceremonies at Redstone Field and the homecoming dance. The members participate in various fundraisers throughout the school year to help with the costs associated with homecoming. Student council members are selected to serve on the Student Forum, held each month at the IU. At these meetings, students all surrounding schools collaborate to identify and study local and regional concerns, to serve as a sounding board for views, programs, problems, questions, and concerns of the students in our individual districts, and to provide communication among the local school districts' student bodies through the coordination of the forum meetings.
